Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
• Contribute to the evaluation of the surroundings and to agree on performance objectives for the Purchasing and Inventory functions;
• Specify material requirements and identify sources, supply scheduling and order placement;
• Classify articles by search characteristics, identify the main segments through ABC analysis and risk analysis;
• Select and evaluate suppliers;
• Inventory Management: independent demand models (deterministic and random) and demand-dependent (Materials Requirement Planning-MRP);
• Measure the variability of demand and predict forecast errors;
• Define levels of security stocks and order points, determine order quantities, control inventory levels;
• Know the technologies and information systems to support Purchasing and Inventory Management.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
The lectures are theoretical and practical, and the theoretical and practical expository and participatory methods are used to introduce theoretical concepts, using exclusively audio visual means. This introduction may also be made by the students, through work and respective presentation / presentation of these works, which therefore focus on the subject to teach. In the practical parts and whenever necessary, analyzes and resolutions of exercises will be carried out, in a context as close as possible to real cases of companie

Continuous evaluation:
Continuous assessment will consist of two individual tests (T1 and T2)
Assessment methodologies and evidences
Final grade:
50% x (T1) + 50% x (T2)
There will be approval if:
• In each of the tests, (T1) and (T2), a grade equal to or greater than 8 (eight) values is awarded and the final grade (CF) is equal to or greater than 10 (ten) values.
Attendance system
Resource Season:
The evaluation system is the same as in the final evaluation of the 1st period, the final grade being the examination grade of the resource season.
Special Season:
The evaluation system is the same as in the Resource Season, the final grade being the examination grade of the special season.
