Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
It is a strongly practical course, that emphases "know-how" in the field of legislation and obligations that companies have to meet under the Human Resources Administrative Management activities. Indeed, in an environment in which change is constant, the characteristics of these obligations change significantly in a short time. For this reason it is important that students learn how to use regulatory instruments of the various obligations, such as, among others, the “Diários da República” in order to interpret the legislation on legal obligations and also to handle the different instruments available for several entities in order to maximize the ability to act in accordance with the rules at the areas of social security, taxation and labour law. The content of this program covers all the requirements for which companies are liable, particularly Social Security, Taxation and working conditions and relations regulators. The course syllabus full relates to it´s objective.
Teaching methodologies
The teaching / learning is applied in the context of this curricular unit of Human Resources Administrative Management according to the type of classes (theoretical or practical). It is also depends on the type of goal: development of group work or preparation for the tests/exams:
• Theoretical classes - Lecture / Interrogative Methodology, using the participative methodology whenever possible;
• Practical classes - Participative Methodology through study, analysis and resolution of Case Studies about all topics of the course, problem solving and using the support legislation;
• Group Work - Tutorial orientation of practical classes and groups during tutorial periods;
• Preparation for Test - Orientation for formative test on the theoretical sessions.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
The selection of methods to be used is based on learning objectives to be achieved.
So, into this curricular unit the lessons are given to a large number of students simultaneously and the educational objectives aimed predominantly a cognitive knowledge - level of know - know. The practical classes are focus basically on motor-skills - level of know-how. The practical classes are supported on instrumental activities and practical solving problem through the operationalization of concepts and materials provided in the classes according the actual legislative framework.
But this “Lecture method” used on the theoretical classes is also supported by the participation of students, that imply an improvement on the process of learning, discussing, illustrating and responding to issues / questions to the teacher. This method used in the theoretical classes with the invitation to participate, helps to clarify concepts, helps to reflect on the content and help students in structuring and discrimination and integration of cognitive elements (know / know).
This course is eminently practical with the main emphasis placed in the field of "know-how" and in the field of legislation and legal obligations that companies have to fulfill at level of management of human resources.
This curricular unit is complemented by other means and procedures in practical classes. In practical classes, students manipulate documents, including “Diários da República” to obtain a better knowledge and legal obligations updating, of the “Código do Trabalho”, the “Código Contributivo da Segurança Social” and other key documents. The resolution of cases, individually or in groups, in addition to the theoretical classes gives as the conditions to reach the objectives set for this curricular unit.
In this way, all theoretical lessons are followed by practical sessions with exercises in order to operationalize what was learnt in the theorical lessons. These exercise help and reinforce the knowledge about the various legal obligations that must be respected and fulfilled by organizations.
One goal is to achieve a deep knowledge at level of regulatory instruments of the various obligations, such as, among others, the “Diários da República”, in order to interpret the legislation on legal obligations and also to handle the different instruments provided by different entities in order to maximize the ability to act in accordance with the rules. This goal is achieved on the one hand by the guidelines given at the theoretical classes, using predominantly the expository method, but in practical classes students have the opportunity to handle and learn the legislation.
On this way there is a full correspondence between the objectives and the contents because the knowledge is achieved through the link of the expository method / questioning and participatory approach in order to operationalize these concepts mostly through practical cases.
Assessment methodologies and evidences

In order for the student to obtain who successfully carry out group work and individual proof.
