Objetivos de aprendizagem

• Understand the main concepts and instruments for economic analysis and how to apply them in problem solving;
• Identify the main market actors and the rationality underlying their economic decisions;
• Measure the influence of government intervention in the economy;
• Compute costs, revenues, profits and the optimal level of production;
• Identify the different types of markets and evaluate the efficiency and strategic behavior of the intervenients;
• Understand and interpret the main macroeconomic aggregates.

Teaching Procedures

Both expository and interrogative methods are combined to the learning of the theoretical and conceptual economic framework. Students’ participation is also imperative in the practical lessons.

Continuous assessment:
• Two Individual Tests, open-book of two hand-written pages: weight to final grade of 50% each; minimum grade of 8 each from a scale 0-20.
The final grade must be equal or greater than 10 from a scale 0-20 for approval.

Final assessment:
• One Individual Exam, open-book of two hand-written pages.
The final grade must be equal or greater than 10 from a scale 0-20 for approval.

Recourse Exam:
The evaluation is equal to Final assessment.
