Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
The learning outcomes underlying the Course are focused on the knowledge acquisition: • Understand the fundamental concepts of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). • Understand the security concepts: access control, backups, security policies, etc.. • Understand the importance Business Continuity issues. • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of Outsourcing. • Understand the competitive advantages given by Internet, e-Business, e-Procurement. The skills and competencies developed by students: • Ability to critically analyze the role of Information, Information Systems (IS) and ICT in the social and organizational context. • Acquisition of skills to understand the IS as support a strategic change in organizations (structures, processes, people). • Provide the students skills to make decisions about the management processes and implementation of IS supported on New ICT in business support.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
The classes are geared toward a theoretical explanation of the main aspects for the management of Technology and Information Systems (lecture method) and the practical application of knowledge (participatory approach), and using examples of practical application of acquired knowledge. Wherever possible, the concept will be illustrated based on practical applications using the participatory method for solving exercises.
