Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

1. To promote and develop interest in the social significance of sport in modern society.

2. To promote the interest and understanding of the social structure, social relations and social sport problems (causes and consequences).

3. Indicate how the theories and methods of social sciences, allow us to understand better how the sport.

4. To provide students with the competence to distinguish, evaluate and understand the trends revealed by the phenomena of the sports type, and the social context in which they arise.

5. To promote and develop critical analysis of sport in society.

6. Develop skills and competences in the field of research in Sociology of Sport, including the acquisition of knowledge of methodologies and tools to be used in the field of research of sport science in order to allow them to survey and diagnosis of the facts centered sports partner, mainly the factors characteristic sports partner of Portuguese society and the sports universe.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

It is intended that the student: Manifest, in addressing issues that cross sociology and sport, objectivity and a methodical study of attitude and systematic, facilitating the acquisition and application of knowledge.

Teaching methodologies

A abordagem de conteúdos programáticos assenta em duas partes: uma parte destinada a estudos teóricos e uma outra parte destinada à aplicação da teoria.

Para os estudos práticos os métodos de trabalho são diversificados e em função dos objetivos de cada aula. Os mais frequentemente realizados, pelos estudantes, são a apresentação de temas, os painéis de discussão, o trabalho individual e/ou de pequeno grupo, a elaboração de fichas de síntese e de reflexão sobre a teoria e o trabalho de Projeto.

A avaliação é contínua e os estudantes nela integrados estão sujeitos, no decorrer do processo, à realização de pequenos trabalhos práticos de reflexão e/ou de aprofundamento do estudo realizado, bem como a situações pontuais de questionamento.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

Dá-se especial importância às metodologias interativas, o ensino pela descoberta, envolvendo os estudantes no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, centrado numa abordagem dos conceitos teóricos referenciados pela investigação científica e sua aplicação a situações práticas.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

Avaliação e classificação
A avaliação da unidade curricular assenta no regime de avaliação contínua, que se consubstancia em momentos de processo e de produto. Constituem valências da avaliação contínua:

Ao nível do processo (50%)
- Exercícios de aplicação realizados nas aulas – 15%
- Trabalho de projeto - 35%

Ao nível do produto (50%)
- Prova escrita de conhecimentos – 50%

Para efeitos de atribuição da classificação final, poderá o docente estipular, se achar necessário para uma melhor clarificação do processo de avaliação, a discussão oral de qualquer uma das produções desenvolvidas pelos estudantes.

Attendance system

Regime de assiduidade:
a) esteja presente em 80% das aulas e participe na discussão das questões em análise, bem como na realização dos trabalhos propostos;
b) leia a bibliografia de apoio e esteja preparado para analisar e discutir os temas apresentados;
c) realize as tarefas e os trabalhos programados, evidenciando com clareza e rigor a apropriação dos conhecimentos sobre a matéria.

Observations

Os estudantes com estatutos especiais, que não possam estar presentes nas sessões previstas, devem dar conhecimento deste estatuto ao docente nos primeiros quinze dias de aulas, sendo definido um plano de trabalho a desenvolver e critérios de avaliação adaptados, em função das possibilidades e condições particulares de frequência dos alunos implicados, de forma a permitir o acompanhamento de aulas e a respetiva avaliação contínua.
