Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

Identify and know the psychological mechanisms and cognitive, affective and emotional factors underlying the practice of sport and physical exercise in different contexts.
To know methods and techniques for gathering information and demonstrate the ability to understand, analyze and interpret individual and group phenomena in situations arising from sports practice with psychological repercussions on participants in different intervention contexts.
To know the main notions, theories and strategies inherent to the optimization of the management of the behavior of individuals and groups in the sports process.

Nature, history and evolution of sports psychology;
Emotional Processes: Activation, arousal, anxiety and stress in sports;
Emotions and performance.
Aggressiveness in sport;
Imagery;
General Motivation and "Achievement Motivation";
Flow;
Confidence;
Psychological evaluation in sports contexts;
Communication, feedback and reinforcement in sports contexts;
Establishment of Objectives;
Leadership in sports contexts;
Cohesion and Dynamics of Groups;
Motivation for sports practice and abandonment of sports practice;
Psychology of Physical Exercise (determinants, behavioral models for exercise, consequences of physical activity).
Psychological skills training;
Cognitive processes (eg attention / concentration);

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

It is proposed to study the cognitive and psychological characteristics of the participants in the sports process and develop abilities of observation and analysis of sports performance, thus contributing to the development of more adequate and correct understanding and intervention skills for different contexts and situations in That develops the sport process and is directed to the discussion of the factors and psychological mechanisms responsible for the behavior of the human being and for the optimization of the management of the behavior of individuals and groups in the sporting process.

Teaching methodologies

The approach of the programmatic contents will be made, in parallel, on the basis of classes of expositive nature based on the presentation and discussion of the themes arising from the contents stated in this program, and on classes directed to the survey of questions and the development of studies, in group, Related to problems arising from the psychological repercussion of the sports process on the participants.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

It demonstrates the appropriation and the use of knowledge on the different topics addressed, through the production of the proposed works.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The final classification is:
• Students with regular attendance:
O Assessment of the Process (minimum mark 10 values): 40% - It is expressed by the presentation and discussion of scientific papers, (2 presentations - 2x12,5% = 25% and 2 discussions - 2x7,5% = 15%). It occurs throughout the semester in UC classes.
O Evaluation of the Product (minimum mark 10 values): 60% - Result of student performance in 2 written tests (30% + 30%). It occurs in the middle and at the end of the semester.
• Students without regular attendance:
O The evaluation is done by exam (100%). It occurs in the season (s) envisaged for this purpose.
• Students with Special Statutes:
O Assessment of the Process (minimum mark 10 values): 40% - It is expressed by the presentation and discussion of scientific papers, (2 presentations - 2x12,5% = 25% and 2 discussions - 2x7,5% = 15%). It occurs throughout the semester in UC classes. It occurs during the semester in the classes of the UC, with the necessary adaptations to the Special Status of the students.
O Evaluation of the Product (minimum mark 10 values): 60% - Result of student performance in 2 written tests (30% + 30%). Occurs in the middle and at the end of the semester

Attendance system

Each student is expected to attend 80% of the classes and participate in the discussion of the issues under analysis, as well as in group work and carry out the scheduled work.
