- Identify strengths, limitations and implications of the use of information and communication technologies;
- Develop the ability to communicate using different tools of synchronous and asynchronous communication;
- Demonstrate competence in the use of ICT in specific contexts;
- Develop communication skills, oral and written;
- To design and produce, small group, a poster on a given topic;
- To design and produce multimedia presentations targeting specific contexts;
- Identify emerging technologies in education and training;
- Planning and preparing small projects with specific programs support

Syllabus

- Internet: collection, organization, processing and presentation of information.
- The evaluation of the information.
- The written and oral communication with ICT support.
- Features and functionality of content management platforms.
- Web 2.0 tools: weblogs, podcasts, wikies, and others.
- The concept of portfolio and the digital portfolio. Tools available for its construction.


Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

To achieve the objectives of the course and provided skills is essential that theoretical notions explained the contents to be worked through practical examples that students will deepen throughout the semester: Further content will be applied on an individual project presented and discussed in class .

Teaching methodologies

The classes will be organized into four components;
- Reading and discussion papers on topics related to ICT and its use;
- Practical activities that seek to involve students in research, information organization and its treatment with specific programs (including image processing programs and video);
- Work in small group encompass: a) the design and preparation of posters, multimedia presentation and b) the development of a personal portfolio using tools available on the web;
- Presentation and discussion on the respective class of the work performed.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The active participation of students, individually or in groups, aims to contribute to the deepening of themes of UC. To achieve the goals of UC, students will be involved in resolving short-term tasks (1-2 classes). These tasks are related to small written works on Web 2.0 tools. These documents prepared by students constitute the documentary base to serve as an example the creation of a digital portfolio. Students are, throughout the process, followed by tutoring sessions and supported by the use of an online platform where different materials are available for support.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The evaluation of the work done at UC will be performed by student participation in class, in the resolution of the proposed practical activities and their involvement in the design, development and presentation of a small project work.
The final grade will take into account the following weights:
- Class participation and resolution of practical activities - 25%
- Project work: Design and development - 50%
Presentation and discussion - 25%
