Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

The themes and contents represent a broad view of the field of Biology and Geology, considering the curricula of the 5th and 6th grade. Content management is done allowing the development of research and inquiry skills and encouraging autonomous learning.

Teaching methodologies

Teaching methodologies include both classroom and on-line activities (Moodle platform).

- Reading texts and articles
- Classroom discussions about chosen topics

- Presentation and discussion of reports
- Field work

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

Teaching methodologies are centred in students’ activities, considering their future role as teachers. Emphasis is placed on practical activities (inquiry approach) and on the discussion of scientific and socio-scientific issues.
