Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

1 - Experience a comprehensive set of contemporary creative methodologies, based on different artistic areas;
2 - Conceive, develop and articulate different methodologies capable of building a “manual of good practices” for an openness to creative investigation and cultural and artistic mediation;
3 – Arrange for future pedagogical designs based on these exchanges; sediment an opening of the “I creator” and the “I investigator”;
4 – Create a space for thought, practice and learning with a view to transversality of the areas of Education, Art and Inclusion, encouraging the development of strategies for an active production of material, construction of theoretical and practical bridges as agents of transformation in the seeking to achieve the social development of these areas, as well as to develop critical thinking, inducing doubt and research through praxis.

Syllabus

1 – Production of a space to challenge and redefine borders and divisions, focusing on professional resilience and pointing to the future based on research and sharing inputs.
2 – Micro-methodologies: building know-how, implementing a self-awareness routine, enhancing reflection on methodological tools, understanding the crossing of artistic disciplines and their impact on the exploration of these methodologies, as well as embracing ideologies and constellations of wills;
3 – Experimentation and systematic approach to the creative production of content and collaboration, in order to disseminate strategies and knowledge;
4 – Method Laboratory: the energy of the laboratory in an Artistic Residency derives from its process of reflection through practice as an artistic studio. An interactive, “embodied” space in which the urgency of methods and materials guides interdisciplinary thinking.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

It is intended to expose students to different creative methodologies of work and research, in an essentially practical and experimental perspective. Different competences are analyzed and experimented in reflection groups, in a workshop/laboratory system, in which it is intended to promote different mediation strategies from multiple artistic languages (drawing, photography, creative writing, body/body expression, performance, etc.) . These strategies aim to combine forces and synergies in the creation of materials for future work in cultural mediation, at the crossroads of artistic practices with formal, non-formal and informal education. A framework of concepts and experiences applicable to mediation is established, on an empirical and investigative basis, of processes that focus on the complete person of the student, envisioning a professional with a transdisciplinary and inclusive vision in the strategies to be put into practice.

Teaching methodologies

The methodology is of an eminently theoretical-practical and laboratory nature, based on the realization of a studio of creative practices, bringing together a series of transdisciplinary experiments. They will cover direct contact with concepts, processes and tools from different areas of creation, focused on the pressing needs of cultural mediation and its objectivity towards the work in the field.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The activities to be carried out aim to build a practical territory, joining and strengthening a network of creative practices that promote the development of each person's creativity in their personal and daily approach to working with education and/or mediation. The construction of an integrated system of practical tools that help in the development of each student's personal work, builds a set of different offers that can be worked with specific audiences. Thus, an autonomous didactics of the exploration of content and creative practices based on artistic processes, which aim to enrich each student's Mediator Kit (their “personal luggage”, their toolbox) arises. It is intended that the student acquires the possibility of putting creation into perspective for different audiences and spaces (schools, museums, other cultural facilities, adults, groups with specific needs, etc.).

Assessment methodologies and evidences

Assessment will be continuous (with retroactive regulation) through participation in activities and carrying out work (individual and group) that include research, report writing and specific performance within the scope of the Artistic Residency.
Assessment includes the following components: class participation (30%); individual written reflection on the experimental process developed in the Residency, which creates the bases for the development of a future proposal in education and cultural mediation (70%).
