Main Contents

Kinesiological and biomechanical foundations of human movement: Basic concepts, laws of motion, force and force systems.
Fundamental movements of the human body and references for their study.
Physiological movements in different segments of motion.
Moments of Force and types of levers. Equilibrium and stability.
Determination of muscle contraction, force and velocity of contraction.
Regulation of spinal motion, motor control and joint stabilization;
Structure and function of the tissues. Components of each type of tissue and respective mechanical and physical properties. "Stress-strain Curve”.
Physiological changes resulting form soft tissue injury: cellular and structural responses. Basic principles of early intervention (PRICE).
Physiological changes in soft tissue during immobilization.
Joint mechanics and functional anatomy of the upper limb: the shoulder joint complex, elbow, wrist and hand.
