Objectives, competences and learning Outcomes

The course Anatomy and Neurophysiology of Vocal Tract aims to provide thorough knowledge of anatomy and neurophysiology of the vocal tract, a key to better understanding the voice in his habilitation and rehabilitation. Students will develop skills in analytical reasoning to integrate theoretical knowledge about anatomical, physiological and neurological bases. With these skills, students should have appropriate specific actions in a clinical situation of voice case (habilitation or rehabilitation).

Teaching and Learning Strategies

The teaching methods of this course will consist of: lecture method with the help of PowerPoint slides, ENT examinations viewing on VHS or DVD, live examinations, presentation and group discussion of clinical cases and therapy, a session of a pig larynx dissection or similar (conditional), observation of imaging (CT and NMR) and its correlation with the video tests and clinical practice.

Type of assessment

Assessment

The evaluation will be set at the end of all sessions through written examination (100%).
