Objectives, competences and learning Outcomes

The Vocal Acoustic course aims to give students a thorough knowledge of the acoustic voice signal with a large practical component and use of computational tools. Students should develop the following skills: interpret sound signals in general and the vocal signal (sound or vibration) in particular, dominate and manipulate the software tools for sound analysis; relate the analysis to the phenomena of speech and its relationship with the vocal tract; know and integrate auditory phenomena and the explanation of speech disorders associated with voice.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

The teaching methodology to be used is essentially the oral presentation of the theoretical matter, with audiovisual aids, always accompanied by practical exercises that allow students to identify real situations, thus promoting the consolidation of knowledge. The most practical part of the content will be subject to a somewhat different methodology, by monitoring the practical work by students.

Type of assessment

Assessment

In continuous evaluation, the final evaluation will be conducted through the sum of written test (40%), practical work I (30%) and practical work II (30%).
In addition to face contact in the classroom and times of doubt, students will also communicate with faculty through e-learning MOODLE platform. In this platform will be implemented summative tests, educational tests and discussion forums.
