Objectives, competences and learning Outcomes
The Voice Medical-Surgical Techniques course aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical (on-site observation or audio-visual-perceptual samples) about the medical and surgical treatments most relevant and scientifically studied in the context of vocal pathologies. Should develop cognitive skills, procedural and attitudinal appropriate, in order to become able to recognize the most varied conditions and ability to apply or indicate ways to more rational and effective treatment.

1.2. CBC and blood differential diagnosis of vocal disturbance

2. Surgical treatment of vocal pathologies
2.1. Conservative and radical surgery of the larynx and neck
2.2. Fono-microsurgery: applications and implications
2.3. Laser-microsurgery: applications and implications
2.4. Current techniques of external laryngeal surgery: change the vocal quality
2.5. Laryngeal transplantation
2.6. Constraints anesthetics
2.7. Other treatments considered in surgery
2.8. Psychological aspects of voice surgery vs life's quality
2.9. Multidisciplinary team and group support
Teaching and Learning Strategies
The teaching of this course is based on lectures which include illustrations of different surgical techniques used in the treatment of voice pathologies. Clinical cases are shown and analyzed in photo and / or video, with the objectives of deepening awareness of the issues and the induction of open discussion among faculty and students.
