At the end of this curricular, the students are expected to:
• To know the acupuncture and the role of the Acupuntur.
• To know the intervention process in acupuncture and the competences of the Acupuntur.
• To identify the legal dispositions that regulate the acupuncture.
• To understand the scientific process and its repercussion on acupuncture.
• To understand the role of the acupuntur in injury and disease prevention and in health promotion.
• To understand the standards and requirements defined by the groups representing acupuncture and
regulating entities.
Syllabus
1. History and development of the acupuncture at international level and its tendency of evolution.
2. The acupuntur as health professional.
3. Sociological concept of acupuncture.
4. The profile of the acupuntur.
5. Education and Research in Acupuncture.
6. Legislation.
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
The classes are expository, presented realities of the profession in different situations, emphasizing the
philosophical evolution of acupuncture in the East and West to achieve with a succinct approach to the
legislation in Europe governing the profession, allowing that students acquire an overview of the potential,
capabilities and duties of acupuncture professional in the clinical aspects, research and regulation.
Teaching methodologies
Expositive, demonstrative, participative and problem solving. The unit can be effected by: continuous
evaluation, ongoing at the school and that results in the exemption examination period, The final
classification (FC) of curricular unit for continuous evaluation is obtained from the marks obtained in the
written component (T).
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
The theoretical component allows equipping students with knowledge of acupuncture which offer them
participate in the discussion and reflection on the basic tools of the profession together with an overview
of the resulting acupuncture of the themes and their interconnections with the present, in the discussion of
situations and events related to the profession.
Assessment methodologies and evidences
The written component consists of two written tests. The minimum grade in each frequency is 9.5 values.
The final grade is calculated from the following formula: CF = 0.50*T1 + 0.50*T2. The classification of all
assessment instruments is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20, and the weighted value of the marks obtained
must be equal or greater than 10. The exam consists in a written test, in which the approval will require a
rating equal to or higher than 10.
