Teaching languagePortuguese Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)Seeks to acquire and develop knowledge and skills in the domain of professional, ethical and legal responsibility . It is essential to integrate epistemic, ethical , deontological and legal dimensions, to lead to action. As learning outcomes, it is expected that the student : a) Identify the epistemic, ethical , deontological and legal dimensions, integrated in decision making ; b ) Understand the nature of nursing knowledge; c ) Support the decision on principles , values and ethical standards ; d ) Discuss the fundamentals of decision making and the specific praxis as nurse ; e) Know the legal framework for professional nursing practice; f ) Reflect critically the process and outcomes of decision making; g ) Promote the protection of human and fundamental rights; h ) Integrate knowledge in case analysis; i ) Learn to manage, in the team, on a proper way, practices that can compromise the security, privacy, dignity or rights of the client. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomesThe objectives and expected outcomes of this course will meet the competencies in the professional, ethical and legal responsibility domain (Regulation 122/2011, DR 2nd series, February 18, 2011), considering the units of competence as well as the matrix elements of specialties (OE 2008) concerning the ethical, deontological and legal aspects associated with health care.
Teaching methodologieshe teaching-learning methodologies includes theoretical exposition, analysis of texts and reflective discussion. Focus on the students and are predominantly active and participatory, with discussion of arguments, defining the problems and search for better alternatives. We will make use of documents, film clips, opinions issued by Nurses Order , National Council of Ethics for the Life Sciences, National Commission for Data Protection and other sources in the area. Include the construction of an ethical and legal records (aka "folder of law"). Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomesThe curricular unit aims to prepare students to analyze , discuss , reflect and make informed decisions , considering aspects relating to knowledge, ethics, deontological and legal dimension thus contemplating the formal frame and the existential and human aspects . Thus integrate the various dimensions in view of decision-making and action balanced with construction of complex thought .
