Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Demonstrate a high level of understanding about the principles of pathophysiology of the critical patient.
• Relate the knowledge of pathophysiology with signs and symptoms in the critical patient.
• Identify what are the main areas to be taken into consideration in therapeutic support and replacement in the treatment of the person in critical situation.
• Conduct good research practice in the critical patient, based on the scientific evidence available and the evaluation criticizes usual practices and reasoned.
• Systematize the main results on the search area.
- Identify the most important aspects to be taken into account in assessing patient's nutritional support and critical (medical and surgical).
Syllabus
Principles about complex processes of critical illness and/or bankruptcy related organic amendments:
Air and respiratory routes
Cardiovascular
Neurological Conditions
Musculoskeletal conditions
Gastrointestinal
Genitourinary and nephrological
Endocrine and metabolic
Immune Hematologic
Applied Anatomy and Physiology
Biophysics and biochemistry applied
Applied microbiology and epidemiology
Applied Pharmacology
Nutrition of high-risk patient:
Sick doctor
Sick surgery
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
The approach of the themes presented allows the master to deepen, understand, analyse, reflect and apply the different pathophysiological concepts, with regard to the treatment of the patient and its type. Critical exploration of evidence in biomedical sciences will be decisive. All these aspects will contribute to a better assessment of the patient, treatment/maintenance and critical deoente recovery. It is intended to further the promotion of new fields of research, since the slope ethics to practical aspects of care.
Teaching methodologies
Expository-participatory method, with discussion of the issues, entering students ' experience in teaching and discussion of themes. It is used the e-learning in order to complement the other methodologies.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
Expository-participatory method, with discussion of the issues, entering students ' experience in teaching and discussion of themes.
- Use of e-learning in order to complement the other methodologies.
Continuous assessment:
-The completion of a written test – 50
– Presentation of group work in selected materials-50
The final ranking results from the arithmetic mean of the results obtained in the two moments of evaluation.
Assessment by examination: Individual written exam.
