Syllabus1. The Advanced Life Support (ALS) in Adult
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomesThe learning that comes from the theoretical issues will enable the graduate student to care for the person in critical condition / or organ failure. Similarly, it will promote the development of specific skills about early identification of people in urgent / emergente clinical situation, establishing methodologies for the initial assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions supported algorithms and guidelines on scientific evidence. The contents will be based on a dynamic query, analysis and interpretation of the works listed in the bibliography and especially of scientific papers addressing different issues that will be the study object of the course. These were defined in order to support, in a theoretical perspective, the learning outcomes. Teaching methodologiesThe goal is a student centered teaching method that encourages reflection, and enhances the processes of cognitive and interpersonal nature, advocating the acquisition and development of concepts, problem solving, constant research and practical work where the aspects of intervention therapy in nursing are clearly identified. There will be tutorial sessions, in accordance with the study plan and the recommendations of the Bologna Process. In the laboratory practical classes the class will be divided into small groups, they follow a scripted simulation scenarios with ALS intervention.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomesThe implementation of interactive methodologies promotes in students a dynamism that affects the process of teaching and learning in a positive way. The resulting demand for knowledge from the evidence related to the various topics listed in the syllabus instils a methodology that students should use during the course and subsequently take to their workplaces. The teaching methodologies are oriented in coherence and coordination with the learning objectives set for the course since they intend to introduce moments of exposure where the most significant concepts will be worked out, combined with exposure, scientific evidence research and training in the laboratory. It is expected from students to be the driving force in their own development, and that they undertake their work in a constant search for updated information. Assessment methodologies and evidencesStudent performance in these classes will be subject to continuous practical assessment, accounting for 50% of the total. The theoretical lessons and theoretical-practical lessons will be reviewed as an individual written test 50%.
