Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
The integrated and progressive approach to curricular unit program will allow students to develop the
knowledge and skills set out in the objectives, ensuring consistency between the syllabus.
The approach to the theory and meridian systems (primary and extraordinary) associated with your path
will allow the student to understand their physiological functions. It is essential that students know and
can distinguish different types of acupuncture points and identify what their properties in the light of the
theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The acupuncture treatment involves puncture predefined location points that are identified by palpation and on which students must know the main symptoms and
clinical applications.
Students should recognize and apply the auriculoacupuncture as a technique associated with the concepts
of TCM, according to which body has a vital energy that ensures the health and wellbeing, can be crafted
energy microsystems by developing protocols therapeutic.
Teaching methodologies
Expositive, demonstrative, participative and problem solving. The unit can be effected by: (a) continuous
evaluation, ongoing at the school and that results in the exemption examination period, if the final grade is
equal to or higher than 10, and assuming the formative and summative dimensions; (b) exam, which takes
the summative dimension. The assessment is made by two written tests, each one accounting for 50% and
with 9,5 values of mínimal classification.
The classification of all assessment instruments is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20, and the weighted value
of the marks obtained must be equal or greater than 10. The exam consists in a written test, in which the
approval will require a rating equal to or higher than 10.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
The development of the classes held by harmonizing the teaching methodologies with the fundamental
objectives of the curricular unit. This will be a curricualr unit of exposure of physiological functions of the
respective system and meridians composition demonstration of clinical application of the theory of
meridian and the auriculocunpuntura.
In practical classes students are expected to identify the points of acupuncture and auriculoacupuncture.
In order to facilitate the learning process, students will have access and anatomical models of the human
body and ear with acupuncture points, meridians, extraordinary meridians curious points and new points.
Outside the hours of their practical classes students have access to parts and anatomical models. In the
runup examinations, access to them is available for 8 hours a day. To benefit the learning and achievement
of defined objectives will be tried to encourage a process of dialogue.
