It is intended that at the end of this curricular unit the student is able to:
• Demonstrate knowledge about the principles of limitation in acupuncture.
• Demonstrate knowledge about combination of acupuncture point’s methods.
• Develop and apply acupuncture protocols for empty syndromes.
• Develop and apply acupuncture protocols for full syndromes.
• Understand the Bi syndromes.
• Diagnose Bi syndromes.
• Develop acupuncture protocols for Bi syndromes.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

The integrated and progressive approach to the study plan will enable students to develop the knowledge
and skills set out in the objectives, ensuring consistency between the syllabus.
The syllabus of the course cover the principles of limitation in acupuncture and methods for combining
points (Chapter 1). In chapter 2, they are addressed to the protocols of emptiness and fullness syndromes.
In Chapter 3, they are studied Bi syndromes, diagnosis and protocols.

Teaching methodologies

Expositive, demonstrative, participative and problem solving. The unit can be effected by continuous
assessment or final evaluation.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The development of the classes conducted in accordance with the teaching methodologies and the
fundamental objectives of curricular unit. Students will learn not only why, but also how to run, evaluate
and decide.
The provision of information and scientific knowledge and provided technical objectives will be developed
in the beginning of each issue to address, in practical classes where the relationship with other matters
addressed in previous classes or other curricular units will be established. In these sessions you want It
will develop the skills of students and make them aware of the importance of the issues addressed in a real
context, contributing to a better environment and also ease the perception of the goals to be achieved.
Given the eminently practical nature of the matters to traverse, they will be presented, discussed and
proposed in the practical classes, several exercises and case studies, resulting from work in clinical and
research developed. So share shall be knowledge, doubts and questions, in order to benefit student
learning and lead to greater motivation thereof.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The final classification (FC) curricular unit for continuous evaluation is obtained from the marks obtained
in the written component (T) and the practical component (PL).
The written component consists of two written tests and is on theoretical a practical content. The minimum
grade in each frequency is 10 values. The laboratory component consists of two moments of practical
assessment conducted during the classes, must be equal to or greater than 10. The final grade is
calculated from the following formula: CF = 0.50 T + 0.50 PL. The classification of all assessment
instruments is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20, and the weighted value of the marks obtained must be equal
or greater than 10.
