Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

This course aims at the empowerment of students to design, plan, intervene and evaluate intervention programs, in
partnership with the child / young person and family, in any context, providing an effective education for health, so
that mobilizes the various resources support within the functional content of specialist nurses in child health
nursing and pediatrics and skills to master.
It is expected that the student:
- Acquire the skills of specialist nurses in paediatrics and child health;
- Identify good practices and projects that promote the welfare of the child / young person and family;
- Develop knowledge about the design methodology.

Syllabus

I-Project Methodology of intervention in child health and pediatrics: the situational diagnosis to dissemination
Design Concept
Definition of the project methodology (The project as a method for problem solving)
Definition of participation and partnerships project
Identification of the project phases (diagnostic, planning, implementation and evaluation)
Systematization and presentation phases of project work
II-Seminar Dissemination Project

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

This course aims to enable the student to the methodology of design as well as to encourage their use, taking into
account the skills of specialist nurses in pediatrics and child health as well as the skills of master.
Is constituted as a space for sharing between students and experts in the field of infant-juvenile health, promoting a
greater knowledge of existing, related to different contexts of care projects.

Teaching methodologies

METHODS OF TEACHING:
Expository and participatory approach, encouraging critical and reflective thinking of students.
Analysis of articles and reference documents.
Expert seminars.
Group dynamics and analyzing situations.
Orientation tutorial for student support in the monitoring and development of group work and clarify doubts.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

Recognizing the potential of each student, as well as optimizing the experience and experienced or narrated
situations, focus is on the use of more active methods, promoting empowerment and critical reflective thinking and
encouraging active and quality participation of each actor.
The analysis of articles, reference documents and situations allow the student to integrate the contributions of the
course, being able to use them before experienced or situations occurring in the context of care.
Constituting a space for sharing, seminars of experts will provide moments of learning, encouragement and
motivation for the design and active participation in projects that promote the image and development of the
profession.
Based on the mentioned above, the execution of an intervention protocol in an area of interest within the children
and youth health, enable students to consolidate knowledge, synthesize and articulate the concepts learned and
the issues addressed.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY:
Achievement and presentation, individually or in small groups, a protocol intervention project.
