The contents of this course unit focussing on the development of knowledge about special situations and disaster relief in particular in clarifying conceptual aspects and in the analysis of situations that allow the definition of intervention strategies by the nurses, integrated into multidisciplinary teams. The importance still lies in the analysis of the impact of special situations and disaster relief, as well as in the management of the different stages.
The syllabus chain connects dynamically on theoretical simulation cases, interpretation and analysis of the same.

Teaching methodologies

It is suggested a model of student-centered teaching and in the group, which focuses on the sharing of perspectives in the analysis of situations, vis-à-vis the goals defined. It is intended that the methodology will lead to the development of critical-reflexive student capacity in the design of strategic plans as a team, that can give special emphasis to the adequacy of the knowledge, leadership, initiative and creativity. We suggest the use of exhibition and seminar method, group work, case studies, simulations, Brainstorming,
visualization and critical reflection of movies.

The main objective of the proposed methodology is to develop a student-centered education, which stimulates the analysis and reflection, highlight key concepts of appropriation processes, as foundations to support the intervention strategies in nursing exception situations and disasters. With the implementation of interactive methodologies would involve significantly, the student and the group in its formative development process, using the research and sharing of diverse experiences and experiences related to the various topics listed in the syllabus of this C.U. The teaching methodologies will be targeted in coherence and coordination with the learning objectives defined for the curricular unit once you intend to introduce moments of exposure where they will be processed the most significant concepts, combined with more active methods where students are the driving force of development.
