Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

The syllabus aim to achieve the goals planned for this Curricular Unit. The first points of the program, points 1,2 and 3, looking the student recognize the multitude of problems related to health in the workplace. The contents provided in 4 and 8 contextualize the student on the subject of intervention in health work, making known not only the organization of occupational health services such as teamwork in promoting the health of workers. Contents provided by points 5 and 6 essentially aimed at training the student to the importance of using epidemiological model of health work in the prevention and detection of risks, accidents and occupational diseases. Content already provided for in paragraph 7 of the syllabus, clearly responds to objective C, since contemplates legislation and national and international programs of occupational health.

Teaching methodologies

Expository method using the class participation and individual work of the student. Work in small groups. Study visit to an occupational health service.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The fundamentally intended of the theoretical lessons is to achieve the necessary theoretical concepts, while group work facilitates discussion and more thorough analysis of occupational health themes. The study visit to an occupational health service enables direct contact with the situation of workers in their environment and the reality of the work of health professionals in this context.
It also considers that the proposed methodologies promote and stimulate debate and sharing, as well as the acquisition of theoretical knowledge that allow the understanding of social, political, legal and health problematics associated with the work.
