Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

The Research Unit IV is an annual curriculum that takes place over the 4th year. Utilizes the contributions of all Course Units Research precedents. Thus, in research I have discussed the issues of scientific knowledge and epistemology of nursing in Research II, was taught throughout the research process, including techniques and methodologies of data collection, the Research III, addressed the contributions of nursing evidence based , focusing on revisions in databases. This is an area with high sensitivity since it promotes the development and updating of existing knowledge in different areas / reality. Is the development of a Research Project, formed part of a developing, using different research methodologies, relying always on the scientific evidence regarding the collection and systematization of information. It is intended that students continue the development of soft skills and specific guides have advocated in previous research and acquire the specific pass to specify: Know the main stages of the project methodology The design methodology applies where fits Does literature based on the scientific evidence Draws the research study Planning strategies and activities to address the problem Performs planning Summarizes the conclusions Evaluates the route taken Present and disseminate the results

Syllabus

1. Project Methodology Work.
2. Review existing types (systematic literature, integrative)
3. Background and project design - presentation of PReSaMe methodology (Project answers Mental Health)
4. Treatment and data analysis.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

Expository and participatory orientation of group work in the 1st half and 2nd half.
Use of computer tools, email and discussion forums, via Moodle 2.0.
Presentation and discuss of working progress.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The evaluation of the course is made through the delivery and presentation of two assessment components:

1. Part of the project design - Caracterization/Profile of a county - group work. Display indicators and characteristics of distributed county. Between 20/30 pages. Weighting 10% for presentation and 25% for the written work, which corresponds to 35%) in the final classification of UC.
Deadline for the submission, on 19 October via Moodle.
Presentation on 20 October (14 / 18h). 20 'each group and 10' discussion.

2. Final Report - Group work. Analysis Report and discussion of the results of the questionnaires in the county. Between pages 30 to 40. Scientific article disclosure of the results. Weighting 55% for the written work and 10% for the article, which corresponds to 65% of the final grade of UC. Closing date for April 2016.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

This Unit is only available in continuous assessment.
The group is divided in 4 - they have theoric classes in the first semester and groups orientation/supervision in both semesters.
Project should be ready in the first semester; report on the second.
Supervision is available in theoretic-practice sessions.
Additional documents support the different themes of the groups.

Assessment with two elements of appraisal:
1. Research Project - group work; presentation 10%, written work, 25%
Only can be submitted in Moodle, after positive declaration of supervisor teacher.
Limit: December, 1 (2016)
Presentation: 9 December (14/18h) - 30' presenting, 15´discussing
2. Research Report - group work. betweem 40/50 pages
To the Report is attached a scientific paper.
Only can be submitted in Moodle, after positive declaration of supervisor teacher.
45% written work, 10% presentation and 10% article.
Presentation date: 28 april (9-13h).

In case the group fails the learning objectives, can reformulate the written work, discussing it in oral examination, in special exam period.

If the group has failure on continuous assessment, in the final stage can deliver the redesigned work after feedback, subsequently proceeding to oral discussion of it in the posting date on the calendar of examinations.
