Syllabus
Stoma nurse: concept and functions
Indications for ostomy: temporary, permanent. Types of Ostomy
Nursing care to the person with an Ostomy (colostomy; Ileostomizado; Urostomizado)
Nursing the person with an ostomy Respiratory.
Dermatological perspective before the ostomy patient
Psychosocial Aspects Linked to person Ostomized Patients (Auto-imagem/Auto-estima; Sexuality, Power, support and social network)
Nursing Care in Irrigation of a colostomy
Organizing a consultation Stomatherapy
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
Affirmative-expositive to appeal to the participation of students
Teaching methodologies
Affirmative - expositive with the use of class participation and individual student work.
Continuous evaluation:
Written work (80%)
Presentation and oral discussion of the work (10%)
Self-assessment (5%)
Hetero-evaluation in pairs (5%)
Exam Evaluation:
Individual work delivery (critical bibliographic review themes), and its discussion
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
Realization of a literature critical review article on one of the following themes:
• Complications of Ostomy (peri-stomal hernia;
• Complications of Ostomy (peri-stomal Dermatitis)
• The power of ostomates person
• Sexuality person with a stoma
• Nurse stoma: concept and skills
• Complications of Urinary stomas
• Ostomy in Children
• Bowel irrigation in ostomates
• Self care ostomy patient
• Ostomy impact in the family
