It is expected that the student consolidates the acquisition and development of the general nurse apprehended in the previous stages, in the following domains:
Professional responsibility, legal and ethics
Providing and care management
Professional development
Is also expected that the student:
Mobilize and apply the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired in order to assess person / target group
health needs in any context of practice and at all levels of prevention
Effectively respond to unexpected situations or that change is quickly;
Demonstrate attention in an emergency and / or disaster;
Be proactive in the integration / development process of skills in the clinical setting;
Develop critical report internship based on the skills of general nurse;
Evaluate assertively and reflectively their development
Syllabus
Internship in the context of the practice of nursing care
Holistic Consolidation Seminar (HCS)
• Degree Course in Nursing Global Vision - convergence the process of care, decision-making, clinical
judgment, help relationship and therapeutic communication
• Holistic care that respects the individuality, ethical and culturally competent
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
Learning in the clinical settings, student’s integrate the nursing teams and they have a mentor/supervisor nurse and a reference teacher. There are three formal moments with the teacher in contexts (at beginning, formative assessment and summative assessment).
During the internship, students must do care plans and documents of study like therapeutic forms, thematic dossiers, share and discuss them with the supervisor nurse and the reference teacher.
In SCH the methodologies are expository and participatory and group reflection of dynamics, shared in plenary.
The curricular unit is only assessed in continuous evaluation format
Assessment:
Holistic Consolidation Seminar – conceptual map and theoretical foundation – 5%
Clinical Practice – 95% (self- assessment – 20%; hetero- assessment – 40%); Report – 40%

The mentor nurse is important to facilitating adaptation the general stage guidelines to the reality of the contexts, and provides student participation in the activities of the team. The mentor nurse collaborates in educational assessments and summative student.
The teacher makes stage supervision and is the link between the school context and the student. Guide the student's reflection about the activities to be undertaken by mobilizing the learning and skills acquired throughout the course.
