Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
It is intended that at the end of the UC / student is able to:
1) distinguish and relate the concepts of health promotion and health education;
2) Writing properly a planning an education education initiative directed to a particular group, including the formulation of specific objectives, identification of evaluation indicators, technical proposals and tools for results and process evaluation and appropriate pedagogical strategies tto the objectives and target population;
3) Justify theoretically and conceptually the health education plans, in the specific field of physical therapy;
4) Apply basic principles of construction of health education materials appropriate to the objectives and target population.
Syllabus
Unit 1 Health Promotion and Health Education concepts and determinants of health.
Unit 2 Theoretical Models Applicable to Understanding, Predicting and Changing Health Behaviors.
Unit 3 Basic planning concepts and programming EducationEducation initiatives.
Unit 4 strategies and teaching techniques in Health Education. The basic principles of andragogy
Unit 5 Pedagogical communication: actors and appropriateness of the message to participants and literacy levels.
Teaching methodologies
Lectures that will use the expository method, discussion in large group, small group work, trial sessions, testing and evaluation of teaching strategies of group work and communication.
Assessment methodologies and evidences
This course will be assessed through a theoretical evaluation on continuous assessment and educational strategy (held simultaneously for FT TP IV). For approval, the / students will get a rating higher than 9.5 in both evaluations. In case of failure or absence in the evaluative moment, the / students will have to carry out the activities (testing and educational strategy) an exam.
(Work x 0.30) + (Test x 0.70) = Final classification
This formula is also applied in exams.
