Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomesThe development of general nurse skills in the domain - responsible, ethical and legal practice, presumes knowledge that integrate concepts, principles, values and duties as well as their relationship in the Nursing professional practice framework and its regulation. Also Requires an in-depth analysis of professional deontology and the enlargement of its understanding to nursing care situations involving ethical and deontological problems or dilemmas. It is important, in the last year of the Nursing Degree, to in-depth analyzes and integrates the main instruments of deontology in the regulatory profession framework. The ethical-deontological analysis of cases brought by students from their clinical learning experiences, Improve student’s awareness of ethical and deontological dimensions of nursing clinical practice and consolidate the skills proposed for this UC. Teaching methodologiesThe Teaching methodology includes expository and participatory methodology with de use of case analysis. Deontological documents are placed in a Moodle platform and support the thematic discussions in the classroom.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomesThe chosen methodology extends students ethical-deontological knowledge and promotes the deepening analysis of Deontological Code and its relationship with other professional regulatory instruments. The approach to different subjects associated with nursing care and the use of cases analysis, improve students understanding of ethical- deontological problems and dilemmas related to Nursing Care. The evaluation methodology allows assess: the degree of students conceptual ownership and their level of ethical-deontological analysis; their ability to identify and discuss ethical-deontological issues of clinical situations from experiences lived in clinical learning contexts. Allows understand the decision-making processes and action process (as explained by students in their Clinical Experience Reports) and its conformity with professional duties and persons dignity and rights respect. Assessment methodologies and evidencesContinuous assessment includes the completion of a Seminar Portfolio - which results from the sum of five focused papers held by students in the context of the UC seminar classes.
