Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

a. Relate the concepts of health promotion and health education;
b. Explain the multidetermination of health phenomena and behaviors;
c. Develop the planning of a health education initiative aimed at a specific group, including: specific objectives, evaluation indicators, techniques and instruments for evaluating results and the educational process and strategies appropriate to the objectives and the target population;
d. To define theoretically and conceptually health education plans, in the specific domain of Speech Therapy;
e. Apply basic principles of the construction of educational materials appropriate to the objectives and to the specific target group (s).

I. Essential concepts: health promotion, health education
II. Determinants of health, literacy and lay health knowledge
III. Theoretical models applicable to understanding, predicting and changing individual health behaviors
IV. Planning and programming of health education actions
V. Educational strategies and techniques in health education
VI. Communication through audio-visual media

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

This CU has a theoretical and practical character, since its pragmatic projection in health education actions within the scope of Speech Therapy is expected. Therefore, the syllabus has mutual correspondence and refers, cumulatively, to the domains of know-how and know-how.

a) During the suspension period of classroom activities, due to the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic, the teaching methodologies were implemented in distance learning.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

As the integration of theoretical-conceptual knowledge in educational activities within the scope of Speech Therapy is intended, different teaching methodologies will be adopted. In addition to the oral exposition, with visual and audiovisual support, and practical exercises in small groups, in the TP classes dynamic methodologies of rehearsal and reflection will be adopted, contributing to the development of the execution skills expressed in the objectives.
