. To know the audit methodology to evaluate the management systems of quality, environmental and safety.
. Understand the methodologies used in the certification process.

Syllabus

1. Fundamental concepts of quality: Inspection, Control, Warranty Management. Introduction to standardization, metrology and qualification (certification and accreditation). Portuguese Quality System.
2. Quality - NP EN ISO 9001: Terminology and concepts. Requirements. Process management
. Implementation Methodology: diagnosis, planning and organization. Resolution of practical cases.
3. Environment - NP EN ISO 14001: Terminology and concepts. Requirements. Process management
. Implementation Methodology: diagnosis, planning and organization. Resolution of practical cases.
4. Safety - ISO 45001: Terminology and concepts. ISO 45001. Requirements.
Identification of hazards and risks . Implementation Methodology : diagnosis , planning and organization. Resolution of practical cases.
5. Systems Evaluation. Audits - methods and techniques . NP EN ISO 19011 . Managing an audit program . Practical cases simulated audit.


Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

. Integrate fundamental concepts of Quality, Environment and Safety: explanation of concepts, historical developments, and definitions in the rules.
. Develop and implement systems to the requirements of Quality, Environment and Safety: understanding the requirements of the standards and application in practical cases related to the course.
. Develop plans, procedures and documentation for the systems: practical work on the documentation requirements of the standards.
. To know the audit methodology to evaluate the management systems of quality, environment and safety: a study of methodologies and simulated practice.
. Understand the methodologies used in the certification process: analysis of methodologies certification bodies and accreditation for different standards.

Teaching methodologies

Participatory methodology that considers the theoretical issues and the instrumental aspect of practical application through case studies. Continuous assessment with individual test and group work.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The written test aims that students maintain a pace of regular study and work, and is aimed at learning theoretical concepts.
The achievement of group work allows them to research topics of their interest and is directed to a more applied nature of learning.
