Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

A) DESIGN MODULE:
1-ENABLING STUDENTS TO CORRECT READ AND INTERPRETATION OF TECHNICAL DRAWINGS.
2-DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCES OF GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION, ENABLING THE STUDENT FOR THE CORRECT READING AND INTERPRETATION OF TECHNICAL DRAWINGS AND FOR THE USE OF COMPUTER-ASSISTED PROJECT TOOLS (CAD).
B) TECHNOLOGY MODULE:
PRESENTATION OF THE VARIOUS TECHNOLOGIES IN THE ENERGY AREA.

Syllabus

A) Drawing Module
1. Orthogonal Projections
2. Cuts and Sections
3. Computer-aided design (CAD)
4. Familiarization with 2D CAD systems. 2D drawing commands. Perspective drawing. price. Brief introduction to 3D and parametric systems.
B) Technology Module
Main technologies used in energy conversion processes.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

A) DESIGN MODULE:
LABORATORY LESSONS IN DESIGN ROOM, FREE HAND AND CAD TOOL.
B) TECHNOLOGY MODULE:
SEMINARS PRESENTED BY SPECIALISTS FROM DIFFERENT AREAS

Teaching methodologies

Continuous assessment without final exam

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

A) Drawing Module
Development of freehand drawings during class or as work at home, and preparation of final work in CAD tool (to be executed in the last CAD class of the semester).
Unless indicated by the teacher, the freehand assignments will be delivered in the same class in which they are started. Students with the status of student worker are allowed to perform work outside of class. CAD tooling has to be delivered in a format compatible with AutoCAD 2006.
It is mandatory to deliver 75% of the work freehand (at least), as well as the final work in CAD tool. Failure to comply with this requirement implies failure to discipline.
B) Technology Module
It is mandatory to attend at least 75% of the seminars.
To obtain the frequency, approval (9.5 points) is mandatory in both modules.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The final classification of UC is given by the following formula:
CF = 0.2CT + 0.8CD
CT - Tecnology module rating
CD - drawing module classification
CD = 60% (average of free hand jobs + average CAD jobs) + 40% (final work)

Attendance system

In order to have access to continuous assessment it is necessary to attend at least 75% of the classes.
