Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

The goal of this training in on-the-job setting, is to allow the student to use the knowledge acquired
all through the course by solving problems, building a contact and insertion in the labour market,
which will have an important impact in his/her professional integration.

Syllabus

The contents that the student may choose to conduct their research and apply in the field are
from the occupational health and safety area. The work plan should follow the guidance for the
preparation stage of report / project in a real work environment.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

The student will be “integrated” in an organization to carry out his/her training in a working context.
Inside the organization the student will be tutored by a senior official and at Polytechnic Institute
of Setubal (ESCE/ESTSetúbal) he will have a training/project supervisor who will help in the activities
planning, technical measures execution and final report execution. The student will be also
permanently supported by the coordination of the course who will seek to ensure the necessary
means for the success of his/her training / project.

Teaching methodologies

This is a practical component, in which the student shall apply all knowledge acquired through
the course, the teaching methodologies will be based on work situations, learning by discovery
and tutorial support.
In this curricular unit the evaluation will comprehend the public presentation of an original
document before a 3 member jury who will assess the written document (theoretical
rationale/technical implementation/coherence/aesthetics/etc.), and the actual presentation
(posture/personal presentation/contents knowledge/clarity/etc.).
In case of insufficient educational achievement, under the minimum grade required, the student
must have the chance to undergo another training/project, writing another report, so that he can
present and defend it again.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

As this is a curricular unit with very specific characteristics, a real on-the-job situation in a working
place will allow the student to achieve the objectives he targets.
