Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

This Curricular Unit aims at familiarizing students, in general, with the Law as discipline, and especially, with the Labour Law regime. Thus, the objectives intend, essentially, to know the labour contract regime.

Teaching methodologies

Theoretical and practical: theoretical knowledge is administered by oral presentation supported with slides in powerpoint file type previously sent to students. In order to complete with theory has produced a book of practical exercises to support the UC that were resolved in class.
Continuous assessment includes two written individual tests. Final assessment consists of a written individual exam.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The teaching methodologies are selected based on the learning goals of the Curricular Unit, which combines theoretical and practical classes, the first, based on a lecture and interrogative method, particularly knowledge and understanding and the latter aims to operationalize the concepts and is based on practical problem solving.
On the other hand, practical classes are based on a participatory approach in which concepts are operationalized mostly through practical cases and the use of law tools and techniques that provide a consolidation of knowledge and enable the development of skills for its implementation.
The Curricular Unit of Labour Law (option) aims to contribute to the development of the following skills:
• Understanding of the Labour Laws social importance;
• Understanding of the social and citizenship questions that Labour Law approaches and tries to protect;
• Understanding, within the ambit of the Private Law, the questions raised during the labour contract drafting and it effectiveness;
• Knowledge of the basic, but most important laws to Labour Law (Portuguese Constitution, Civil Code, Labour Law Code and it most recent modifications) and to know how to apply it in real life.

Attendance system

Continuous evaluation:
• Conducting two (2) Tests; Final Score = 0.50 (1st test) + 0.50 (2nd test)
Or,
• Conducting two (2) Tests and one (1) Paper; Final Score = 0.40 (1st test) + 0.40 (2nd test) + 0.20 (Paper)
If the grade of each test is lower than 7.5 points or the average of the final grade is less than 10 points, the student will have to make a final evaluation.

Final Evaluation: normal, appeal and special season; If the exam grade is less than 10, there will be no approval.
