Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
• To know and understand the three functions of organizations, namely, the cultural, strategic and identity functions.
• To understand the role and importance of the HR function and HRM practices in promoting change and innovation.
• To know and understand the different factors of organizational change
• To know and understand the different sources of innovation.
• To understand different processes and methodologies of organisational change and innovation.
• To create and apply different approaches, instruments, techniques of organisational change and innovation.
Syllabus
The curricular unit of Innovation and Organisational Change’s main aims are to discuss innovation and change in the context of HRM and to enable students to understand and apply different methods and techniques of organisational change. Thus, the main topic of discussion are:
• The factors that shape organizational change and innovation.
• Different theoretical approaches to change and innovation.
• The role of HRM and organizational culture in promoting organizational change and innovation.
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes
By focusing on the different approaches and methodologies of organizational change and the sources of innovation in a HRM perspective, the syllabus of this curricular unit is coherent with the unit's objectives because it will enable students to acquire and develop the necessary skills to understand and apply different methodologies and techniques of diagnosis and change.
Teaching methodologies
In both theoretical and practical classes we use participation methods. In the practical classes we also use problem solving methods, team work and case study methods.
Our continuous assessment contemplates individual and group evaluation. The individual evaluation consists of a written test done during class . The group evaluation consists of a case-study or a problem solving case.
The final evaluation contemplates a written exam with theoretical questions and problem solving questions.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes
The teaching methodologies enable the students to participate and to apply the theoretical concepts as well as the methodologies in problem solving situations or cases, thus enabling them to develop the above-mentioned competencies and skills .
Assessment methodologies and evidences
