“The comprehensive, multi-topic and pragmatic teaching as practised at the ESCE is currently recognized in the job market as an important asset [in the curriculum] of young ESCE graduates. As The experience and skills acquired at the ESCE have allowed me to gradually and consistently evolve along my career path because the HRM programme, although focused on that particular area, provides us with an integrated understanding of Management, thus enabling us, within the company, to intervene at various levels of responsibility.”
Hugo Protázio, Bachelor in HRM , director of HR – Auchan Group
I enjoyed the privilege of being among the first students of the ESCE to witness the growth of the school, and to grow with it. I made many friendships which I maintain to this day, (including professors). My advice to those who will shortly enter the working world is to cultivate your social life, as just a small part of knowledge is imparted by the curricular programme.
João Simões Neto, Bachelor in HRM, HR Sourcing and Development Nestle Spain, SA
“The ESCE is an excellent school – it ought to maintain weightier criteria in terms of Credit Hours, as it did in the beginning (this makes us learn to manage time and priorities); this can be verified by the lowered capacities of current graduates regarding these skills. The fact that the HRM course offers a notable component in Management is a positive factor when one attains management positions (generalist and non-specialized). They should offer more complimentary (facultative) courses, such as those related to psychology (short seminars, maybe open to the public); this could be an added attraction for alumni and perhaps a source of income for the school.”
Irene Rodrigues Temudo Bachelor in HRM, HR Specialist at Webasto Portugal
“I was privileged to enrol at ESCE in its first year of existence. We did not have our own facilities, so classes were held in the EST (in the basement)…Great times! Watching and participating in the development and growth of the school developed us as well, as people and professional, creating bonds uniting Professors, students and all the professionals who oiled the machine Even today I look on the ESCE as belonging to me in a small part and I am proud to be an alumni of a school which, above all else, develops the person!” I hope that the ESCE spirit will be carried on and promoted by us all. That means being flexible and responsible, develop a tremendous capacity for work, and above all else enjoy academic life in all its manifestations (not just nocturnal)…Certainly we will be better People, better Professionals and take a part of the ESCE with us to every team of which we are a part during our careers.”
Susana Trindade, Bachelor in HRM, HR GFI Portugal
“The school offered excellent infrastructure. The teaching staff was motivated and supportive of students whenever necessary. The course included a very practical component and the group interaction has been decisive to improving my work in groups. I was even able to gain international experience through a cultural exchange which has proved invaluable to my personal development. Na minha.” In my point of view some 1st year classes did not make particular sense, but I believe some have been withdrawn by the Bologna Plan revision”.
Tiago Miguel Barreto Pinho, Bachelor in Marketing, Shop Manager Sonae / Sport Zone
“The ESCE has excellent facilities and resources at the students disposition, starting with the building itself, the document centre, computer equipment, parking just to name some. The fact that are classes organized in [morning and afternoon sessions]allows the students a great amount of flexibility, be it for working, extra-curricular activities, group projects, studying, etc. Once in the job market it is possible to perceive the intrinsic of an ESCE education, through written works and presentations produced during years of study. Not only does this encourage deeper reflection on various themes, as it also develops greater professionalism and confidence in face of future situations, such as job interviews, and presentations to clients or the board of directors.”
João Paulo Ramos, Bachelor in Marketing, Business Manager, and soon-to-be named Chief of Staff of the president of Daymon Worldwide
“The ESCE is a school with great infra-structure and all the resources necessary for academic achievement. I advise all the students who want to study at the ESCE to choose Marketing, because if the hazing is the most creative, just try to imagine the parties! I would call my experience at this institution ESCElent!!”
Thiago Costa, Bachelor in Marketing, Junior Product Manager Pfizer Laboratories
“The ESCE stands out, be it the close relations between students and professors, their educational methods, it all makes our experience during the course of study crucial to our behaviour in the job market. The ESCE is above all else a school of Success which assumes its commitment to support its Students in the challenges they face during their academic and professional lives. An example of this is the partnership with SDG, since 2003, for the implementation of a business simulation which allows the students to come in contact with a practical instrument which reproduces the entrepreneurial setting, thus better preparing them for the job market. If you desire to study in a traditional school – formal – rigid, then don’t choose the ESCE. The ESCE is a school which stands out as different.”
Filipa Isabel Ferreira Freitas,Bachelor in Marketing, Senior Consultant at SDG – Simulators and Management Models, S.A..
“It’s a school with excellent infrastructure and technological resources. The marketing programme is very dynamic and trains us to be versatile, in preparation for facing the demands of today’s job market. It’s a unique experience which will surely transform your life. I recommend that you take advantage to learn from the professors, because not only is the course content up-to-date, but they also share a great deal of professional experience, which is fantastic!”
Eduardo Gaspar, Bachelor in Marketing Junior Business Manager at Daymon Worldwide Europe Inc
“While I was a student I enjoyed the schools dynamic and always felt a part of the ESCE family. I attended the Marketing programme where I developed many of the skills which I apply everyday in my professional activity. If I had to choose one aspect of the school which I liked the most, it would be, without a doubt, the professor / student relationship”.
Paulo Renato Rodrigues Banza, Bachelor in Marketing, Manager at IZI – operated by Mestre Maco
“My experience while a student at ESCE was overall a positive one in all aspects, considering that I gained in growth and development professionally and personally. The school offers excellent study conditions in terms of facilities, equipment and resources, etc. The marketing course is enriching, facilitating the acquirement of skills of various nature in Management, as well as the development of interpersonal skills, team work, and analytic capacity. The course includes a practical component which is also a valuable learning experience. The teaching staff’s assistance and support is excellent as are the relations they maintain with the students. I suggest that all candidates should take the opportunity to collaborate with such a prestigious institution, which offers the opportunity of enrichment of a broad range of skills, in order to be fully prepared for entry into the job market”.
Ângela Teresa Francisco Domingos, Bachelor in Marketing, Product Manager at SDG – Simulatores and Management Models, S.A.
“For me the ESCE was like an open window leading to empiric knowledge and guiding me in an entrepreneurial approach based on social responsibility.
Luis Filipe Pinto Regada Poças, Bachelor in Logistics and Distribution Management, Department Chief ADEO (AKI) Group
"The selection of the appropriate course was not easy, now I have no doubt that was an excellent choice. The balance I do is very positive. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to contact a qualified faculty with academic and theoretical and practical skills appropriate to the objectives of the course, a good working environment and the physical level or the level of human relations. Although there were matters which, in my personal interest, were more interesting than others, all were relevant to a degree in Management of Distribution and Logistics. The experiences within the school were unique. I had the opportunity to participate in several projects that represent an added value to my life. Without doubt, my expectations were exceeded. "
Oxana V.G. Semedo, Degree in Management of Distribution and Logistics, teacher (ESCE)
