HOW TO APPLY
We are delighted that you have decided to do
your study exchange at Polytechnic
Institute of Setúbal (IPS). Here you may clarify our
application procedure
and deadlines, accommodation options and Mobility
Coordinators contacts.
The applications that do not follow these
procedures will not be accepted.
Furthermore, the applications which have not been
confirmed by the international
office of the sending institution will be disregarded.
Finally, note that
the applications must be approved by our mobility
coordinators.

Academic Calendar
The exchange period must occur in the frame of a
cooperation protocol between both IPS and an
Institution that belongs to this Programme network and:
It can be a study or a training period (depending on
the approval from the
Mobility Coordinator);
Registration and tuition fees payment are made in
the home institution;
It might be a semester or an academic year;
Selected students must be officially nominated by
their Home Universities
International relations Office. Please send us an e-
mail with the following
data: name, gender, age, e-mail, semester student
wants to apply, field of
study, contact person/e-mail at Home Institution.

Two Learning Agreements (XLS | 96KB) duly signed by Home Institution (please fill
out this form electronically,
we do not accept any forms that are filled out by
hand)
Copy of your Passport
Copy of your international health/life insurance
1 original photo
After preparing the documents, please ask your
International Relations Office
to send them, by e-mail and
by post mail to the following address:

Once the Learning Agreement is approved by our
Mobility Coordinators, we'll
send to your International Relations Office one signed
Learning Agreement
and the Acceptance Letter.

ACCOMMODATION
The Centre for Internationalisation and Mobility of
the Polytechnic Institute
of Setubal (CIMOB-IPS) will not take responsibility
for your accommodation.
However, we provide you with some options:
Santiago's Students Residence from IPS
Student Welfare Services (SAS),
located about 2 km far form IPS Campus in Setúbal -
there's a bus, leaving
from Setúbal, which stops near the Students
Residence and near this Campus.
It's a 10 minutes' walk between the Campus and the
Residence.

The Students Residence Accommodation

Be aware that there's a limited number of
rooms at the Santiago'
Students Residence. Applications will be registered by
arrival order.
There isn't any public transport directly from the
Students Residence to
Barreiro School of Technology.
You may also contact the Real Estate
Agency by e-mail:
geral@aminhagencia.com and ask for a room or
an apartment to rent.
Please notice that IPS Campus in Setúbal is not in
the city centre. If you
want to stay near this Campus, the residential areas
near the Campus are:
Manteigadas and Praias do Sado.
If you want to check it at the Google Earth, IPS
Setúbal Campus is located
in Estefanilha - use references "Rua Vale de Chaves,
Setúbal".
When contacting the Real Estate Agency you
should let them know if you prefer
to stay in the city centre or near the campus.
IPS Academic Association also has
information about apartments or
rooms to rent. If you contact them they will be glad to

You may also ask the contacts of former IPS
international students at your
University's International Relations Office so they may
give you contacts
of particular landlords.
DOCUMENTS
Cooperation Protocol - the exchange
period must occur in the frame
of a cooperation protocol between both IPS and an
Institution that belongs
to this Programme network;
Home Institution selection statement - an
official nomination from
your Home Institution is requested, stating that you
have been selected to
take part in the exchange programme;
Acceptance Letter - IPS will issue it after
your Learning Agreement
is approved;
Application Form - please fill it out
electronically and sign it;
Learning Agreement - it includes the
subjects the student is applying
to study at IPS. It should be negotiated between the
student, the Home Institution
Coordinator and IPS Mobility Coordinator.
Confirmation Letter - CIMOB-IPS will issue
it before students departure
form IPS, stating the mobility period. Students must
come to our Office before
leaving Setúbal;
Transcript of Records - the final document
with student's grades.

Fields of Study: Marketing, Logistics and
Retailing Management, Information
Systems Management, Accountancy and Finance,
Human Resources Management.
The School of Business and Administration
provides to Incoming Students
an International Module lectured in English. Students
from Spain may attend
classes in Portuguese from the regular degrees
available at the School.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic calendar may be different from
School to School.
Usually, the autumn semester starts in the middle
of September and ends
in January next year. Then, in February there is a
break for the final exams.
The spring semester starts in March and ends in
June. The final exams take
place in July.
