Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

• Understand Logistics as a component of the Supply Chain;
• Know the scope and role of the components of the Supply Chain;
• Characterize Supply Chains, namely the activities, sources and characteristics of demand and supply.
• Understand the logistical control and management systems and the main challenges of Supply Chains

Syllabus

• Understand logistics chains as value chains and the role of the end customer in determining the value of the chain;
• Know the dimensions and typologies of supply chains;
• Know the «JIT» systems;
• Distinguish the issue of forward and reverse logistics;
• Understand the importance of the relationship with the end customer for the «Procurement» function and purchasing management;
• Understand the importance of transport and distribution flows;
• Understand the importance of information systems and technologies in the effective management of the supply chain.


Teaching methodologies

Expository and participatory method, using audiovisual means: analysis and elaboration of cases and practical exercises, presentations and discussions.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

Elaboration and presentation of Group Research Papers (GRP) that have a minimum grade of 10 points.
