Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)
At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to:
• to find specific information and draw conclusions from texts about the professional situation at present,
• to write a text, comparing items and their technical characteristics;
• to understand and use verb forms in the present and past;
• to use online tools to check for the correct usage of expressions/phrases and to use various dictionaries effectively;
• to receive and to give instructions;
• to understand and to respond adequately to formal e-mails;
• to do a basic presentation in English.
Syllabus
Language structures:
• Verbs forms in the present and in the past (affirmative, negative and interrogative)
• Common adjectives and their opposites
• Adjective degrees: comparative and superlative forms
Lexical set:
• Prepositions of place and of movement;
• Word formation – dictionary use
To receive and to give instructions;
To write formal e-mails;
Critical reading of texts concerning the national and international about the professional situation at present;
Project work and basic presentation with the support of IT tools.
