Intended learning outcomes (Knowledges, skills and competencies to be developed by the students)

Other teaching language: Portuguese Sign Language.

This subject deepens knowledge in the framework of Portuguese sign language linguistics. Be thorough
knowledge and skills, especially in the area of the morphology of the LGP, which are also processed in the
disciplines of Portuguese sign language and theory and practice of Translation and Interpretation. There
will be a development and deepening of theoretical and practical knowledge of the specific core language
of the course, so students may be aware of the rules governing the Portuguese sign language and ways to
put into practice in specific contexts, in order to facilitate the task of the translation and for the LGP.

signs and the types of signs in LGP.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

At the end of this course the student should have a good knowledge of Linguistics of Portuguese sign
language in the fields worked on at this stage of learning. The knowledge of phonological parameters of
LGP will allow students to meet the minimum distinctive units that form and attach meaning to LGP.

Teaching methodologies

Theoretical approach: themes; distribution of documentation; theme-oriented research; presentation of
topics related to the post content research students; discussion and debate. Practical approach: practical
exercises to collect examples of gestures related to the subjects; morphological analysis exercises of
gestures; execution of concrete examples (gestures of LGP) in order to consolidate the knowledge
previously acquired.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

The realization of diverse exercises will allow the consolidation of knowledge and an in-depth reflection on the new concepts covered in the UC.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The evaluation process will be oriented with focus on the following parameters:
-development of business in the classroom/home, participation and attendance (20%).
-(40%) autonomous work – development of research work on one of the themes dealt with during the
classes.
-test (40%) written and/or recorded in video, based on the contents of the syllabus.
