Enable students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of Instrumentation Project. In the end, the student should be able to choose, size and elaborate the constituent parts of an instrumentation project. He / she should also be able to budget, prepare proposals, plan and coordinate an instrumentation project.

Syllabus

1 - INTRODUCTION TO THE DRAFT INSTRUMENTATION
1.1 THEORY
- Phases of an instrumentation project. Parts of a project. Assignment of responsibilities, production of documents, review of data and ISO. ISA Symbology used in P & I.
- General characteristics of field instrumentation and control room:
. Instrumented safety systems (SIS) and the evaluation parameters SIL. ATEX standards and their application in potentially hazardous environments.
• Mechanics - Fixing, dimensions and protection indices
• Electrical and / or pneumatic - Inputs and outputs. Transmitters, registers, indicators, controllers, converters, alarm units, control valves, etc.
- Maintenance focused on reliability in design and possible repercussions in the specification, commissioning and operation phases of the systems.
• Electrical instrumentation cables
• Intrinsically safe instrumentation.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the UC intended learning outcomes

Theoretical classes - Exposition of the material with the exhibition of instruments, catalogs and projection of transparent.
Practical classes - Tutoring of students in the consultation of catalogs and documentation of the different manufacturers with search for solutions, elaboration of project pieces. Critical discussion with the various groups of their proposed solutions. Follow-up of planning.

- Discussion of the Projects of the different groups - The presentation / discussion of the projects is obligatory and according to the planning of each group, with a deadline, one week before the end of the evaluation period. The project must be duly bound and delivered electronically one week before the agreed date for submission.

• Project with discussion 60% (minimum 10 val.) (Groups maximum number of students 2)
In this discipline there is no final exam, the failure of the previous points by the students, implies the disapproval in the discipline.
Date of delivery of the projects:
According to the planning of each group. Failure to comply with the agreed dates of delivery will be penalized with 1 amount for each day of delay in the three days after the date marked and 0.5 values ​​for the remaining days. With a deadline, one week before the end of the evaluation period.
This rule also applies to pre-project delivery, project planning and follow-up reporting.
